Clearwater Seafoods and Seafood Ecosse are pleased to announce that we are entering a strategic alliance in the Macduff Shellfish business.   The parties have reached an agreement whereby the Macduff land-based processing operations will be sold to Seafood Ecosse returning the business to Scottish ownership.    Clearwater will continue to operate the scallop fishing vessels and exclusively supply the Macduff operations. 

This puts in place a strong strategic alliance between two leading companies to enhance the value of Scottish seafood and service to Macduff’s global customers.  

The sale leverages the strengths of Seafood Ecosse, an experienced and efficient processor and Clearwater Seafoods’ fleet operational expertise. The transaction will enhance operational efficiencies to deliver high-quality, sustainable Scottish seafood to the marketplace.  The transaction closed on Thursday, July 24.
